Diaverum Greece actively participated in the 27th Hellenic Congress of Nephrology, held in Alexandroupoli from May 20 to May 23, 2026.
Through scientific presentations and the exchange of knowledge with healthcare professionals from across the country, our team had the opportunity to contribute to discussions on current challenges and advancements in nephrology care, while maintaining a strong patient-centered focus.
Active Presence at Greece’s Leading Nephrology Scientific Event
The Hellenic Congress of Nephrology is the most important annual gathering of the nephrology community in Greece, bringing together scientific presentations, clinical discussions, and the exchange of expertise focused on improving care for patients with kidney disease.

Presentation by Dr. Alexandra Patrinou: “Challenges in Chronic Hemodialysis Units”
Dr. Alexandra Patrinou, Nephrologist and Medical Director of Diaverum Koropi, participated in the scientific program of the congress with a presentation entitled: “Challenges in Chronic Hemodialysis Units.”

Her presentation focused on key issues encountered in the day-to-day operation of Chronic Hemodialysis Units, highlighting the importance of early identification of challenges, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the continuous improvement of care processes.
Through the exchange of knowledge and clinical experience, scientific discussions of this kind make a meaningful contribution to the advancement of nephrology practice and the enhancement of the patient experience.
Scientific Presentation on Reducing Dependence on Hemodialysis Catheters
As part of the congress, the following scientific study was also presented:
“Reducing Dependence on Hemodialysis Catheters Through a Coordinated Multidisciplinary Approach and Intervention Program”

The study involved patients from six dialysis units across Greece and was presented by Mr. Nikolaos Altanis, Nephrologist at Diaverum Peristeri.
The presentation highlighted the importance of close collaboration among healthcare professionals and the systematic monitoring of patients, with the aim of improving vascular access outcomes and reducing dependence on hemodialysis catheters.
